New Analysis of Cumulant Moments in e+e− Collisions by SLD Collaboration by Truncated Multiplicity Distributions

چکیده
Newly reported normalized cumulant moments of charged particles in ee collisions by the SLD collaboration are analyzed by the truncated modified negative binomial distribution (MNBD) and the negative binomial distribution (NBD). Calculated result by the MNBD describes the oscillatory behavior of the data much better than that by the NBD. PACS number(s): 13.65.+i, 34.10.+x Normalized cumulant moments of negatively charged particles and charged particles obtained from the data in ee collisions were analyzed by the truncated modified negative binomial distribution (MNBD) in [1]. Those moments show oscillatory behaviors as the rank of the moment increases, and are well described by the MNBD. The preliminary data of cumulant moments normalized by factorial moments, Hj (j = 1, 2, · · ·) of charged particles reported by the SLD Collaboration at √ s = 91 GeV were also analyzed in [1]. The SLD did not explicitly show us the multiplicity distribution. Therefore, we calculated Hj moments using the observed values of the average charged multiplicity, C2 moment, and the maximum of the negatively charged particles nmax = 27. The data were only qualitatively explained by our calculation. Recently, the new data for the Hj moments are reported by the SLD [2] and [3]. In this brief report, they are re-analyzed by the MNBD. The MNBD is given by P (0) = (1 + r1) N (1 + r2) N , P (n) = 1 n! ( r1 r2 )N N ∑ j=1 NCj Γ(n+ j) Γ(j) ( r2 − r1 r1 )j r 2 (1 + r2) n+j , n = 1, 2, · · · , (1)

Analysis of Cumulant Moments in High Energy Hadron-Hadron Collisions by Truncated Multiplicity Distributions
Oscillatory behavior of cumulant moments obtained from the experimental data in pp collisions and p̄p collisions are analyzed by the modified negative binomial distribution (MNBD) and the negative binomial distribution (NBD). Both distributions well describe the cumulant moments obtained from the data. This fact shows sharp contrast to the result in ee collisions, which is described by the the M...

Here, I summarize briefly main results of the studies of density and charge fluctuations in multiparticle production in which I was mainly involved during last 3 years. The solution of QCD equations for generating functions of parton multiplicity distributions reveals new features of cumulant moments oscillating as functions of their rank. Experimental data on hadron mul-tiplicity distributions...

The gluon dominance model offers a description of multiparticle production in e + e −-annihilation and proton-proton collisions. The multiplicity distributions in e + e − annihilation are well described. The energy dependence of model parameters gives the dynamic parton stage and hadronisation picture. It is shown that this model has confirmed oscillations in sign of the ratio of factorial cumu...

Theoretical prediction of oscillations of cumulant moments of parton multiplicity distributions inside a jet supported by experimental data in some multiple production processes asks for analysis of the phenomenon for the whole set of available reactions. We have found out that the oscillations persist in any kind of processes and increase for particles with more complicated structure i.e. in t...

The multiplicity distributions at high energy e+e− annihilation are described well within the Two Stage Model in the region from 14 to 189 GeV. Energy dependence of parameters of this model gives the dynamic picture of the parton stage and the stage of hadronization. It is shown that oscillations in sign of the ratio of factorial cumulant moments over factorial moments of increasing order can b...
